[TRANS] Daesung’s Interview with TicketA
The first world tour, “BIGBANG ALIVE GALAXY TOUR 2012” brought in 800,000 fans from all around the world in Europe, America and Asia. Member of monster group BIGBANG, D-LITE will be debuting in Japan as a solo artist with his J-pop cover album “D’scover”
This is an album that can represent the four royal producers in Japan, Seiji Kameda, Matsuo Kiyoshi, Sasaji Masanori and VERBAL (m-flo). With the four producers and D-LITE’s one and only strong voice that contains warmth, this will be an album where people are able to admire D-LITE’s charm. We are now having an interview with D-LITE near to his album release date.
In 5th of December 2012, at the anticipated Tokyo Dome Bigbang performance, D-LITE brought a surprise to the 55,000 fans when he announced that he will be debuting in Japan with a solo album. “D’scover” will be released on the 27th of February (Wednesday). The 10 songs that he recorded in the album are songs that he personally chose himself. While he was preparing for Bigbang’s world tour and also staying in Japan by himself to prepare for his cover album, rather than being affected by the condition of his throat and jetlag, D-LITE is more concerned about his battle with Japanese language everyday and the production of the album.
Starting this week, member by member, I am going to tell you guys about the “Discoveries” I made about them.
First one is TOP (25). He is a typical blood type B and if he thinks that he wants to eat it, he will eat anything. He is a person who will achieve what he aims for one day. He is free and I think he has no stress. He is the oldest of the members but he is the “Baby of Bigbang” (Laughs). Thanks to TOP, the atmosphere around me became more harmonious.
When I first met him long time ago, he looked very cold and honestly, I was scared of him. However, when he said, “You don’t have to speak politely (formally),” I thought, “He’s a great friend~” (Smiles). Nothing has changed and he is still the same.
From this guy, I “D’scovered” his new side. During Bigbang’s world tour last year, he left the group by himself and filmed the movie “Alumni.” He had a challenging role of a murderer and his hard work to become the character in the film perfectly was very serious and cool. When he’s working, you get the feel of “TOP is TOP indeed!” and his charisma increased after starting his career as an actor.
BUT there is just one thing that I want him to stop. Stop riding on my back at the end of every concert!! (Laughs) He says “I like Daesung’s back the most” but I really want him to stop doing it to me when I’m tired. (Laughs)
[NEWS] Daesung (D-Lite) is #2 on Oricon’s Daily Chart with ‘D’scover’ (130301)
Big Bang‘s Daesung has found himself at the top tier of Oricon‘s Daily Album Chart with the release of his solo cover album ‘D’scover‘ in Japan!
Even for the 26th, the album made it up to the #4 spot, and through the chart revealed for February 27th (the actual date of release), Daesung, or should we say ‘D-Lite‘, jumped up two to come in at #2!
Selling 10,876 copies for February 27th, Daesung comes in behind popular Japanese girl group NMB48, who sold 30,946 copies to rank #1.
With this solid start under his belt, Big Bang’s crooner will be embarking on his Japanese tour, titled ‘D-LITE D’scover Tour‘, starting on March 23rd!
