[NEWS] G-Dragon Says He Was An Idol 4 Years Ago But Now He’s An Artist

G-Dragon graded his own growth over the past 4 years.
On March 21, G-Dragon held a press conference at KBS Sports World in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul for the opening of his upcoming world tour.
The Big Bang leader held his first solo concert back in 2009, so during his press conference he was asked what the difference was between now and 4 years ago. He answered, “I feel this continuously as I work, but even though I’m young now, I was even younger back then. I have a lot of things that I want to do in terms of what I do on stage and my musical color, but I feel like I haven’t been able to fully do all of that yet. I think after a few years if I look back at myself, I’ll be like this again. Lately, when I make music or put on a performance, I try to be really sophisticated so that when I look back at this point from the future, I won’t look unsophisticated.”
He continued, “Something different is that the environment has changed a lot. I think I learned a lot and was upgraded from being surrounded with a good staff in a good environment. I hope people who watch feel the same way. Back then, I was an idol so I showed a lot of cute adorable and varied looks. Variably, I’m trying to emphasize my artistic side through the Big Bang concerts and this tour. I think the entire show will be proceeded under a more solid foundation.“

[NEWS] G-Dragon Wanted to Hold 19+ Concert
Wanting to show a lot more, Big Bang’s G-Dragon expressed his hope to one day hold a 19+ concert
On March 21, G-Dragon held a special press conference at the 88 Gymnasium in Hwagok-dong, where he is currently holding practices for his upcoming 2013 1st World Tour: G-Dragon [One of a Kind] on March 30 and 31 at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Hall.

At the conference, he stated, “I want to one day hold a fun and exhilarating 19+ concert.
He shared that there are a lot of talk of making the concert rated R during its planning process, but it fell through. “But whatever I do, I have a somewhat 19+ image.”
On the 19+ concert, he explained, “It’s not that I wanted to do something really racy or suggestive, I just had a thought that there would be more ways to express myself. It would be saddening because everyone under 19 wouldn′t be able to attend, but I believed that it would be my next step, so it appealed to me strongly at first.”
The reason why he decided against the 19+ concert was because he was Korean. “After I thought about it, I am a Korean artist, and even if I tour around different countries, it’s still a tour where I hold the sense of duty as a Korean artist, so I decided against it.”
He explained that in the end, he found different ways to express himself without it being 19+. G-Dragon still hoped to hold a 19+ concert one day.

[NEWS] G-Dragon Talks about How His Marijuana Case Humbled Him
G-Dragon opened up about how his life had changed after he was hit with his marijuana scandal.
On the March 15 broadcast of SBS′ Thank You, actor Cha In Pyo, ballerina Kang Su Jin, comedienne Kim Mi Hwa and G-Dragon flew to Jeju Island.

G-Dragon said on the broadcast this day, “I suddenly hit bottom after a certain incident the year before last, and many of my fans, who had been like sunflowers, showed their disappointment and left me.”
“I don′t cry often, but I cried a lot during that time,” he added.
He then said, “I think that was the first time I started thinking about myself because of a mistake or fault. I had six months of self-reflection because I couldn′t appear on TV, and I got thinking on how I had merely charged forward all this time without looking back.”
He finished, “I think that was when I learned the most, and after that I became humbled. I learned how to be thankful for the smallest things, and I′ve started to take better care of my family. I′ve lived apart from them since I was little, but after that incident I started living with my parents again. As I became a part of our family again and had mom wake me in the morning and feed me her cooking, I started wondering why I hadn′t done this sooner.”

Kuhehelelele“, to which he himself replied, “…………….”. He finished up the conversation with, “‘Michi GO’ Coming Soon“.
